Coming in Summer 2020!
THE RISKIEST CAREER OF THEM ALL.
More military pilots die in training than at war.
Air Force Reserve Major Ford Stevens is a veteran military pilot, upholding the prestigious family practice of service to the nation in the face of danger.
His younger brother, Charlie, a fresh Lieutenant out of pilot training, joins the family tradition seeking to prove himself.
With the rivalry still strong, all he wanted to do was follow his big brother’s footsteps…
Now, Charlie joins his brother Ford in the same flying squadron, both men putting their lives on the line each time they strap in the jet, whether in peace or war.
It will be an initiation by fire as they hunt a saboteur killing aircrew, uniting the competitive brothers in an ultimate test of life and death…
Ready Room Team,
Just wanted to share I’m approaching 200 pages on writing Book 3 where the story focuses on Ford, Emily and many of your old friends. The story takes place between Western New York’s Buffalo/Niagara Falls and Washington, DC.
I also introduce many new characters, including First Lieutenant Charlie Stevens…Air Force Reserve’s newest pilot. Who knew Ford’s younger brother wanted to fly? I wonder if they get along…
In the meantime, the newest trailer came out for “Top Gun 2: Maverick.” As I’ve said earlier, I’m pretty sure this will fix the pilot shortage! Click here to watch it.
Wishing you a great holiday and a Happy New Year!
Prediction: This is probably going to end the pilot shortage.
Watch the trailer here: Top Gun: Maverick.
It’s an honor to be invited back!

Local Reads of the Lowcountry

“The Black Scorpion Pilot” BY LAWRENCE A. COLBY

Former Hilton Head Island resident Lawrence A. Colby spent 20 years flying for the U.S. Marine Corps and the Air Force Reserve. He spent five years working as a military assistant at the Pentagon. Now he’s reached new heights: His Ford Stevens Military Aviation Thriller Series is a No. 1 Amazon best-seller; the second book in the series, “The Black Scorpion Pilot,” was released in December. Though he has lived in the Washington, D.C., area for years, the Lowcountry remains one of Colby’s favorite places, he said. He loves the area so much that he has snuck in mentions of several local spots in his books — for example, Skull Creek Boathouse and Green Wing Teal Road in Sea Pines. “I love capturing places that I’ve lived or have visited, and I like to work that into my stories so that I write with full authenticity,” Colby said. “Because I lived on Hilton Head, I know the people, the places and the culture.” Colby’s newest military suspense novel can be found online through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other retailers. It is also stocked locally at the Skull Creek General Store. For more information, go to www.colbyaviationthrillers.com.
Thank you so much for an excellent year! I am happy to have highlighted our terrific teammates in the military through entertaining stories that you enjoy. I’ve enjoyed writing them as much as you liked reading them.
Over the past two years, I have received many emails and photos from great folks who have shared with me their dreams and hopes after reading one of my books, from wanting to fly to the devastating loss a loved one. Thank you for sharing your stories with me.
Looking forward to sharing more books with you for many years to come!
All the best,
